It's been a pretty low-key Christmas Eve at my house. It's actually been a bit of a dreary day outside, but I cannot be down about the fact that I got to spend it with my loved ones.
Our evening events included a candlelight service at church and our traditional dinner and a movie. Even since I can remember, we have celebrated Christmas Eve night watching a movie while sitting on beach towels on the living room floor eating shrimp and cheese toast and drinking sparkling cider. I have no idea where the tradition originated but I love its uniqueness. The movie we watch has changed only a few times over the last 20 something years, but where and what we eat has never changed. I appreciate family traditions.
